DIRECT CONNECT GROUPSWith a focus on inclusion and collaboration, our direct connect groups empower community members, nonprofits, and businesses to work together to find solutions in times of need in their area by reaching out directly to ask for and offer help in a safe and well managed space.
We know that every member of a community has the ability to affect change--whether a nonprofit director, business owner, or a person in need--every member has the ability to help others and is encouraged to ask for help in times of need. |
We believe every person has value and the capacity to help another, regardless of their circumstances, and ought to be treated in a way that reflects that belief.
Our members help when they can with what they have regardless of their situation, which has a deep and lasting positive impact on their self-worth and sense of community; ultimately empowering individuals, and the group as a whole, to thrive and support each other through good times and bad with confidence and kindness.
Our core principles and group rules are centered on generosity, respect, acceptance, kindness, and empathy. Each member, including our administration team, is held to the standard of those principles and is expected to not only abide by them but to enforce and remind other members of the rules if and when the moment calls for it.
By implementing a self-policing aspect to our organization, every member feels ownership and responsibility in keeping a helpful and respectful space, which, in turn, encourages new members to do the same; making it feel community-owned rather than nonprofit-le. exactly the way it should be!
